Employment & ILS

Employment Services: Angel Pollard, who works at the Home Depot, in El Cerrito, was recently presented with an "Associate's Honor Award." This award was presented to Angel due to providing excellent customer service to customers; one in particular, who took the time to write in about her positive experience with Angel. Congratulations Angel! Keep up the good work!

ILS: Brenda Kelleher and her husband, have decided not only to talk the talk, but walk the walk- literally. The Kelleher's for years have depended on eating out for all three meals, are now cooking their meals at home, and incorporating fresh vegetables and fruits in their diet. Brenda's ILS Instructor, Ronnette Coleman, noticed how Brenda's health was suffering due to her lifestyle, so out of concern, she discussed with Brenda some alternatives. It started slowly with the incorporation of fresh food items, then cooking, and now they are walking the marina! Job well done Brenda! We wish you well in moving forward to better health.

Department of Employment Access & Evaluation

This week, the Department of Employment Access and Evaluation did an intake with a new consumer who is looking for his first job and we completed a brief assessment with another consumer who wants part-time employment near his house in Fremont.  We have received an increase in referrals from the Fremont/Union City area due to the recent closure of a work training site in Fremont.  We are working on getting more job opportunities in those areas for our great candidates!

Steps Toward Wellness

The Steps Toward Wellness program is proud to have instructors who are committed to the vision of the Wellness program.  Joe, Desiree, Natasha, Jeremy, Inna and Nidi all bring their own special expertise and talents that enhance our consumers experience in the Steps Toward Wellness program!  Why to go Wellness Instructors, keep up the good work!
